EMDR is a known psychotherapy technique that is often used to treat anxiety, PTSD, and other conditions. Already a powerful component, when EMDR is paired with clinical hypnotherapy, you can expect amazing results and can resolve trauma in just a few sessions.

EMDR when used alone, continues until the trauma is gone and the memories are no longer troubling. To replace the negative belief, the selected positive belief is “installed” via bilateral movement.

Sessions last approximately one hour and a half.  Orlando Hypnosis Clinic has therapists trained in EMDR and trauma therapy.  Contact us for a free consultation today and learn how we can help you resolve a lifetime of trauma in just a few weeks with this therapy.

EMDR is believed to work because “bilateral stimulation”, which bypasses the part of the brain responsible for processing memories, becomes stuck due to the trauma. When a difficult/traumatizing memory is stuck, it prevents the brain from properly processing and storing the memory.

EMDR allows individuals to safely process their memories and clinical hypnotherapy leads to a peaceful resolution. This experience gives individuals greater insight into forgiveness and healing thoughts that are subconsciously prohibited by the original trauma.  When combined with clinical hypnotherapy, the cognitive impact of these memories can be minimized to nothing.

The EMDR Research Foundation claims that over 30 studies have shown the effectiveness of EMDR therapy for problems like rape, sexual abuse, combat trauma, child trauma and neglect, life-threatening injuries, anxiety, depression, and other symptoms.

Is the combined therapy actually effective?

This type of therapeutic intervention differs from others in that the therapist doesn’t converse with clients during the process.  Much like clinical hypnotherapy in that respect.  We do however offer a free consultation prior to any decision you make so you have all of your questions answered.

It’s not uncommon for sleep to be affected after an EMDR session. Vivid dreams and increased sensitivity to stimuli and interactions are common. When combined with clinical hypnotherapy, clients tend to not notice these effects.

EMDR Therapy isn’t the only therapy that can be used to treat anxiety, PTSD, and panic. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and rational emotional behavior therapy (REBT), can be also used to treat anxiety and trauma.  Although, the over-all results may take much longer.  EMDR Therapy is often used in conjunction with other types of therapy.  Talk to your therapist about possible combinations of therapy and other therapeutic methods that may be beneficial for you.
